Anyone know How I can Detour North Missouri Flood to Omaha withoout going a lot of miles out of the way?

I live in Springfield Mo, and was intending to go to Omaha Ne this Weekend to see my grandma. Anyone know of a alternate route that won't extend the length of time to get there over an hour or so? I know I can go north to Des Moines and across, but trying to avoid all that extra mileage.
