Actually, iRacing.com is an officially licensed NASCAR series, just like the Sprint Cup and the Camping World Truck. In 2010, NASCAR wanted to expand into virtual series besides video games, so they licensed iRacing.com to do it. Many professional drivers do race on there, and if I'm not mistaken, the champion gets a pretty large check.
