How did I suddenly get on a country kick?

I used to hate country music because when I was younger, my teacher never let us listen to what we want and would always make us listen to country music while she drove us to and from school. Anyway, ever since I realized I came from both sides of the south such as Kentucky and North Carolina (I was born in Southern Indiana), I'm now listening to music like LeAnn Rimes, The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Dolly Parton, and Conway Twitty. I always tolerated it for some time, but now I'm starting to appreciate it. I guess Country is an acquired taste.
